FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Counselling Services

  • How can online counselling help?

Online counselling can support a wide range of challenges and life situations, including:

    - Anxiety and stress
    - Depression or low mood
    - Relationship and family difficulties
    - Grief and loss
    - Trauma and past experiences
    - Personal growth and self-development
    - Emotional overwhelm or life transitions

At Blue Skye Therapy, sessions are tailored to your individual needs. Together we explore what you are experiencing and work toward practical, meaningful steps that support your wellbeing.

  • Taking the first step into counselling

Seeking support is a courageous step. Many people find that simply having a space where they can speak openly and be truly heard can create meaningful change.

At Blue Skye Therapy, I believe that even in the most difficult seasons of life, healing and clarity are possible.

The blue sky is still there — sometimes we just need support to see it again.

  • Are your sessions flexible

The number of sessions required will depend on your own personal goals and where you would like to take your therapy. There is no obligation to commit to a set number of sessions.

  • How do your costs compare to psychologists

Out-of-pocket costs for counsellors can be a similar or lower than the out-of-pocket expenses paid for a psychologist even with the Medicare rebate.

  • How much does a counselling session cost

The rate of an individual counselling session is $120

  • What to expect at my first session?

Your first session is an opportunity to talk about what has brought you to counselling and what you hope to achieve. There is no pressure — simply a conversation where we begin understanding your story. Through ongoing sessions we work together to:

    - Identify patterns or challenges affecting your wellbeing
    - Develop practical tools for managing emotions and stress
    - Strengthen resilience and self-confidence
    - Support healing and personal growth

Counselling is a collaborative process that moves at a pace that feels right for you.

  • Am i eligible for rebates?

Blue Skye Therapy is not eligible for Medicare rebates, but I encourage you to check with your private health insurer.

  • Will my counselling session appear on my medical record?

As we do not report to Medicare or your GP, your therapy remains entirely off your permanent medical record.

  • Do you offer after hours appointments?

To provide as much opportunity as possible for clients to access sessions, I also offer after hours appointments.
